Corrective exercise versus kinesio taping for young male basketball players
THE EFFECTS OF CORRECTIVE EXERCISE AND KİNESİOTAPE APPLICATIONS ON PERFORMANCE AND FUNCTIONAL MOBILITY IN YOUNG BASKETBALL PLAYERS
This project will try corrective exercise programs and kinesio taping to see which helps 9–16-year-old male basketball players improve jump, balance, speed, and movement quality.

What this trial studies
Adolescent male basketball players will be assigned to receive corrective exercise training, kinesio tape application, or a combination of both, with baseline and post-intervention testing. Performance measures will include vertical jump, balance tests, acceleration, change-of-direction, and functional movement screens such as the Y-balance and single-leg squat. The interventions are short-term, applied during training sessions, and outcomes will be compared to determine relative and combined effects. Results are intended to produce practical recommendations for preventive and performance-enhancing approaches in youth basketball.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Male basketball players aged 9–16 years who can attend sessions and have no recent surgeries or recent upper/lower extremity injuries are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: Players who had surgery within the past 6 months, sustained an upper or lower extremity injury within the past 3 months, cannot complete assessments, or withdraw from the program are unlikely to benefit from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could help coaches and clinicians choose practical methods to improve performance and reduce injury risk in young basketball players.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have reported benefits of kinesio taping and of corrective exercise separately, but direct head-to-head comparisons in adolescent basketball players are limited.
