What this trial studies

This study aims to develop a targeted exercise program specifically for older adults suffering from non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) for over six months. It will also create a clinical prediction rule to identify which subgroups of patients may benefit most from core stabilization exercises. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving the exercise therapy or a control group on a waiting list. Comprehensive assessments will be conducted before and after the intervention to evaluate its effectiveness.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40 to 80 who have been experiencing non-specific low back pain for more than six months and can ambulate independently.

Not a fit: Patients who have had previous spinal surgery, are currently pregnant, have acute fractures, recent falls, tumors, or bone infections, or have practiced core-stability exercises in the past six months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve pain management and functional outcomes for older adults with chronic low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: Previous research has indicated potential benefits of core stability training for low back pain, but this specific approach in older adults has not been extensively studied.
