What this trial studies
The SCOPE project aims to create a pathway for children and families in Hartford to connect with a Connecticut Children's Care Coordinator when they experience high levels of violence exposure. This intervention focuses on reducing future violence exposure and enhancing the resilience of affected children through Emergency Department-based case management and partnerships with community organizations. The study will assess various outcomes, including reductions in violence exposure and improvements in resilience scores among participants.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this project are children aged 8 to 17 years who are residents of Hartford and have experienced high levels of violence exposure.
Not a fit: Patients whose primary complaints are related to behavioral health or those in custody of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly reduce violence exposure and improve the overall well-being of children in high-risk environments.
