What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of yoga breathing exercises compared to aerobic exercise on hematological parameters in females suffering from iron deficiency anemia. A total of 60 participants will receive medical treatment and dietary advice for 12 weeks, with half engaging in yoga therapy for 50 minutes six days a week, while the other half will participate in aerobic exercise for the same duration. The goal is to determine which intervention is more effective in improving blood health among the participants.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are females aged 30-40 years with a confirmed diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia and a BMI between 25 and 29.9.

Not a fit: Patients with other types of anemia, significant comorbidities, or cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into effective non-pharmacological interventions for improving hematological health in women with iron deficiency anemia.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific comparison of yoga breathing and aerobic exercise for this condition, similar studies have shown positive effects of exercise on anemia management.
