What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Wii Fit training versus traditional vestibular rehabilitation training in improving balance among patients diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Participants aged 30-60 will be randomly assigned to one of two groups, with one receiving Wii Fit training and the other undergoing vestibular rehabilitation. The study will assess balance and vertigo symptoms using various standardized questionnaires and tests before and after the interventions. The goal is to determine which training method yields better outcomes for balance improvement.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 30-60 diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo who can stand and walk independently.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of vestibular surgery, severe head injury, or other vestibular disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a novel and engaging method for improving balance in patients suffering from vertigo.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of Wii Fit for rehabilitation is gaining interest, this specific comparison with vestibular rehabilitation is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
