What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the acoustic voice quality of edentulous patients who have been rehabilitated with either two-implant overdentures or the all-on-4 dental implant concept. The primary focus is to compare the sound quality produced by these two types of dental prostheses. Additionally, the study will evaluate how the success of the implants and prosthetics influences voice acoustics. Participants must have been using their implant prosthesis for at least one year and have no history of voice disorders.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are edentulous patients who have been using their implant-supported prosthesis for at least one year and do not have any voice disorders.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of speech and hearing problems or those who have lost any implants prior to the study will not benefit from this research.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into how different dental implant designs affect voice quality, potentially improving rehabilitation strategies for edentulous patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited information on similar studies, the approach of evaluating voice quality in relation to dental prosthetics is relatively novel and may provide new insights.
