What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effects of vestibular rehabilitation therapy versus conventional treatment on balance and post-stroke fatigue in stroke patients. It will be a randomized controlled trial involving two experimental groups, each consisting of approximately 28 individuals. The research focuses on understanding how vestibular dysfunction contributes to balance issues and fatigue in stroke survivors, which are common complications following a stroke. By assessing these effects, the study seeks to provide insights into more effective rehabilitation strategies for improving patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are stroke patients who can stand for at least one minute without support and have a specific fatigue assessment score.
Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairment, severe unilateral spatial neglect, or severe aphasia may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation strategies that enhance balance and reduce fatigue in stroke patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in vestibular rehabilitation, this specific comparison of therapies in stroke patients is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
