Comparing two types of training for improving breathing in healthy young adults
Comparison of Inspiratory Muscle Training and Thera-band Resistive Training on Diaphragmatic Strength and Pulmonary Function of Healthy Adults.
This study is testing whether two different types of breathing exercises can help healthy young adults improve their lung strength and function over eight weeks.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effects of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) and Thera-band resistive training on pulmonary function and diaphragmatic strength in healthy young adults. A randomized controlled trial will involve 56 participants aged 20 to 35, who will undergo either IMT or Thera-band training over an 8-week period. Assessments will be conducted at baseline, mid-point, and at the end of the intervention to measure improvements in respiratory health. The goal is to provide evidence on the benefits of IMT for enhancing respiratory muscle strength and endurance.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy young adults aged 20 to 35 who are non-smokers and have a normal FEV1/FVC ratio.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic airflow limitations, acute illnesses, or obesity may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance respiratory health and performance in healthy young adults.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with inspiratory muscle training in various populations, suggesting potential success in this healthy cohort.
