What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided Stellate Ganglion block versus Greater Occipital Nerve block in patients suffering from chronic resistant migraines. A total of 40 patients who have not responded to at least two anti-migraine medications will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups. The study will also assess the correlation between the treatment effects and serum levels of Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP). The goal is to determine which nerve block technique provides better relief for migraine sufferers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with chronic resistant migraines who have not responded to or are intolerant to at least two anti-migraine medications.

Not a fit: Patients with space-occupying lesions, coagulation disorders, systemic or local infections, or drug allergies may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could offer a new effective treatment option for patients with chronic resistant migraines.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar nerve block techniques for migraine treatment, indicating potential for success in this approach.
