What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the psychological condition and experience of ischemic stroke patients receiving enteral nutrition through either an Intermittent Oro-esophageal Tube or a Nasogastric Tube. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups, with both groups receiving routine rehabilitation treatment. The observation group will receive nutrition support via the Oro-esophageal Tube, while the control group will use the Nasogastric Tube. The study will last for 15 days, during which researchers will assess and compare the psychological outcomes of both groups.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old diagnosed with ischemic stroke and confirmed dysphagia.
Not a fit: Patients with dysphagia caused by other diseases or those with severe comorbidities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the psychological well-being of stroke patients receiving enteral nutrition.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown varying results with different feeding methods in stroke patients, but this specific comparison is less commonly explored.
