Comparing two types of exercises for chronic low back pain treatment
Effect of Open Chain Versus Closed Chain Segmental Control Exercises on Cross Sectional Area of Lumbar Multifidus Muscle in Chronic Mechanical Low Back Pain
This study is testing whether two different types of exercises can help people aged 25-55 with chronic low back pain feel better and move more easily.

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of open chain versus closed chain segmental control exercises added to a conventional treatment program for patients with chronic mechanical low back pain. It aims to assess improvements in pain intensity, lumbar range of motion, and the cross-sectional area of the multifidus muscle. Participants will be divided into groups based on the type of exercise they receive, allowing for a comparison of outcomes. The study will include patients aged 25-55 who have experienced low back pain for more than six months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 25-55 with chronic low back pain lasting over six months.
Not a fit: Patients with severe neurological or orthopedic diseases, psychological disorders, or those who are pregnant will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide patients with more effective exercise-based treatment options for managing chronic low back pain.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown varying success with exercise interventions for low back pain, but this specific comparison of open versus closed chain exercises is relatively novel.
