What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a new variable-thread dental implant design compared to a standard dental implant in patients requiring replacement of a posterior single tooth. The study will assess clinical, radiographic, and patient-reported outcomes to determine which implant design offers better stability and integration with the bone. A total of 24 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the variable-thread or standard implant, with follow-up assessments to monitor their progress and outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who require replacement of a posterior single missing tooth and are in good general health.

Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as severe bruxism, periodontitis, or those who have recently undergone tooth extraction may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved dental implant stability and longevity for patients receiving implants.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been limited studies on variable-thread implants, this approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in larger populations.
