What this trial studies

This study compares the effectiveness of sacroiliac joint thrust manipulation and pelvic stabilization exercises in treating postpartum low back pain. Participants will be divided into two groups, with one group receiving thrust manipulation and the other group performing stabilization exercises, both supplemented with heating pads. Treatment will occur three times a week for four weeks, and patients will be evaluated for pain and functional status at baseline, midline, and after the treatment period. The study aims to determine which intervention is more effective in reducing pain and improving function.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are postpartum women aged 20-40 years experiencing low back pain at least six weeks after delivery.

Not a fit: Patients who have undergone a C-section or have conditions such as inflammatory pain, neurological deficits, or severe trauma may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective treatment options for postpartum women suffering from low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown varying success with similar approaches, but this specific comparison of treatments is relatively novel.
