What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to compare the effectiveness of the Facilitated Positional Release Technique (FPRT) against the Manual Myofascial Release Technique in female patients diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the treatment group receiving FPRT or the control group receiving manual myofascial release. Baseline assessments of hip range of motion and pain levels will be conducted before treatment and again after two weeks to evaluate the outcomes. The study seeks to determine which technique provides better relief from symptoms associated with Piriformis Syndrome.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are females aged 25-50 who have been diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome and have experienced pain for at least two months.

Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as lumbar radiculopathy, fractures, trauma to the lumbar spine, previous surgeries, or hip osteoarthritis may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment option for women suffering from Piriformis Syndrome.

How similar studies have performed: While this study explores a specific comparison of techniques, similar approaches in myofascial release have shown promise in other studies, suggesting potential for success.
