What this trial studies
This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effects of Gongs mobilization versus Kaltenborn mobilization on individuals suffering from mechanical neck pain. A total of 44 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either Gongs mobilization combined with conventional therapy or Kaltenborn mobilization with traction and conventional therapy. The study will assess improvements in neck pain, range of motion, and proprioception, addressing the significant impact of cervical sensorimotor control on overall neck function. The findings could provide insights into effective treatment options for mechanical neck pain.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 65 with primary complaints of mechanical neck pain.
Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as whiplash injury, previous neck surgery, or cervical radiculopathy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective treatment strategies for patients suffering from mechanical neck pain.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific techniques may be novel, similar studies have shown promise in improving neck pain through various mobilization approaches.
