What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and duration of pain relief in patients with knee osteoarthritis by comparing two treatment methods: conventional thermal radiofrequency ablation of the genicular nerves alone versus the same method combined with alcohol neurolysis. Participants will be assessed for satisfaction and pain relief duration following the interventions. The study focuses on patients who are not candidates for knee replacement surgery and have confirmed osteoarthritis through x-ray imaging.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 60-70 years with knee osteoarthritis who are not suitable for knee replacement surgery.

Not a fit: Patients with neurological disorders, coagulopathy, infections at the injection site, or those under 60 or over 70 years old may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective pain management option for patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with thermal radiofrequency ablation for knee pain, but the combination with alcohol neurolysis is less commonly tested.
