Comparing two methods for knee pain relief in osteoarthritis
Comparative Study of CT and Fluoroscopic Guided Genicular Nerve Ablation in the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of CT-guided versus fluoroscopic-guided genicular nerve ablation in reducing knee pain and improving function in adults with knee osteoarthritis who have not responded to conservative treatments. Participants will undergo one of the two ablation techniques and will be monitored for pain relief, functional improvement, and any adverse effects over a follow-up period. The study aims to determine which method provides better outcomes in terms of pain management and patient satisfaction.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 45 to 80 years diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis that has not improved with conservative treatments.
Not a fit: Patients who have had knee surgery in the last six months or have severe comorbid conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment option for patients suffering from chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific comparison of CT-guided and fluoroscopic-guided techniques is novel, genicular nerve ablation has shown promise in other studies for managing knee osteoarthritis pain.
Eligibility criteria
