What this trial studies

This multicenter observational study aims to prospectively compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes of two surgical techniques for fixing proximal humeral fractures: percutaneous pinning and plate and screws. By analyzing the results from patients undergoing these two different fixation methods, the study seeks to determine which approach yields better recovery and healing outcomes. The study will include adult patients with confirmed proximal humeral fractures who have both X-rays and CT scans available for assessment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old with a diagnosed proximal humeral fracture.

Not a fit: Patients with dementia or psychiatric diseases may not benefit from this study due to potential challenges in compliance and assessment.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify the more effective surgical technique for treating proximal humeral fractures, leading to improved patient recovery.

How similar studies have performed: While this study compares established techniques, similar studies have shown varying success in determining optimal surgical methods for fracture fixation.
