What this trial studies
This study compares the effectiveness of Rocabado exercises and postural correction exercises in treating patients with temporo-mandibular dysfunction (TMD). It focuses on alleviating pain and improving jaw opening while addressing kinesiophobia, which is the fear of movement due to pain. Participants will be assessed for their pain levels and ability to open their mouths before and after the interventions. The study aims to determine which approach is more beneficial for patients suffering from TMD.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are males and females aged 18 to 45 with moderate TMD pain lasting less than six months.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic rheumatic diseases, fibromyalgia, or other significant orofacial pain disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-invasive treatment options for patients suffering from temporo-mandibular dysfunction.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific comparison of these two approaches, similar interventions have shown promise in managing TMD symptoms.
