Comparing two approaches for treating scapular dyskinesia in adhesive capsulitis
Effects of Pragmatic Set of Interventions Versus Scapular Strengthening Exercises on Scapular Dyskinesia in Adhesive Capsulitis
This study is testing whether a new set of treatments or scapular strengthening exercises works better for people with shoulder pain and movement issues caused by adhesive capsulitis.

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a pragmatic set of interventions compared to scapular strengthening exercises in treating scapular dyskinesia in patients with adhesive capsulitis. Scapular dyskinesia is characterized by abnormal scapular movement, which can lead to shoulder pain and functional limitations. Participants will undergo assessments to determine their scapular dyskinesia and will be assigned to one of the two intervention groups. The study seeks to fill a gap in existing literature regarding the rehabilitation of adhesive capsulitis through targeted scapular exercises.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are males and females aged 25-45 with adhesive capsulitis and confirmed scapular dyskinesia.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of shoulder surgery, significant shoulder injuries, or other medical conditions affecting shoulder function may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective rehabilitation approach for patients suffering from adhesive capsulitis and scapular dyskinesia.
How similar studies have performed: While both interventions have shown promise in improving scapular dyskinesia, this specific comparative approach is novel and has not been extensively tested.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Both male and females with age range b/w 25-45 * People with adhesive capsulitis (having pain, stiffness, and decrease movements of - external rotation, forward flexion and abduction) * Scapular dyskinesia (positive lateral scapular slide with difference of 1.5cm when measurements are compared bilaterally) Exclusion Criteria: * History of shoulder surgery or other significant shoulder injury, neurological or musculoskeletal conditions that may affect shoulder function. * History of significant medical conditions (e.g., heart disease, cancer) that may affect their ability to participate in the study. * Pregnant or breast feeder, as the exercise program may not be safe or appropriate for them.
