What this trial studies

This study evaluates three different treatment approaches following tooth extraction in the aesthetic zone: immediate implant placement with provisionalization, alveolar ridge preservation followed by delayed implant placement, and spontaneous healing before implant placement. Patients will be randomly assigned to one of these groups, and their outcomes will be assessed over a period of five years. Key metrics include patient-related outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and changes in bone and soft tissue volume. The study aims to provide insights into the best management strategies for dental implants in aesthetic areas.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults requiring single tooth extraction in the anterior region with good periodontal health and adequate bone quality.

Not a fit: Patients with autoimmune diseases, uncontrolled diabetes, or those who have undergone head and neck radiation may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve patient outcomes and satisfaction in dental implant procedures following tooth extraction.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown varying success with similar approaches, but this specific comparison of treatment modalities is relatively novel.
