What this trial studies
This study focuses on patients with stage 1A mycosis fungoides, characterized by patch and plaque lesions covering less than 10% of the body skin area. The aim is to compare the histopathological differences between lesional and non-lesional skin in these patients to determine whether systemic or local treatments are more effective. Each participant will undergo two biopsies from both lesional and non-lesional skin areas for detailed examination. The findings will help guide treatment decisions for this specific patient population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with histopathologically confirmed mycosis fungoides stage 1A.
Not a fit: Patients with mycosis fungoides at stages other than 1A will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective treatment strategies for patients with early-stage mycosis fungoides.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on mycosis fungoides, this specific approach comparing lesional and non-lesional skin in early-stage patients is relatively novel.
