What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the impact of using endotracheal tubes at different temperatures (24°C and 37°C) during intubation on respiratory complications in children undergoing adenotonsillectomy. Adenotonsillectomy is a common surgical procedure in children, and postoperative respiratory complications such as laryngospasm and bronchospasm can pose significant risks. By comparing the intraoperative and postoperative respiratory effects of these temperature variations, the study seeks to identify the optimal approach to minimize complications and improve recovery outcomes. The research is conducted at Bursa City Hospital, focusing on children classified as ASA 1 and 2.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children classified as ASA 1 and 2 who are scheduled for adenotonsillectomy.

Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include those undergoing emergency surgery or those with a history of difficult airway or respiratory diseases.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved postoperative outcomes and reduced respiratory complications for children undergoing adenotonsillectomy.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on various methods to reduce respiratory complications in adenotonsillectomy, the specific approach of using endotracheal tubes at different temperatures is relatively novel.
