What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of various rehabilitation exercises on patients with temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Participants aged 18-65 will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: myofunctional therapy, myofunctional therapy combined with respiratory exercises, or myofunctional therapy combined with thoracic region exercises. The study will assess pain levels, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality through questionnaires and physical evaluations. The aim is to determine which approach is most effective in improving symptoms and overall function.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-65 with muscle and joint involvement related to temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

Not a fit: Patients with disc displacement, arthritis, severe psychological or systemic diseases, or recent trauma/surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment options for patients suffering from temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of interventions has not been widely tested, making it a novel investigation.
