What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of 360-degree bristle toothbrushes compared to standard manual toothbrushes in children aged 2-12. Participants are randomly assigned to use either type of toothbrush, with younger children having their teeth brushed by parents and older children brushing under supervision. Clinical assessments of dental plaque and gingivitis are conducted before and after brushing using established indices. The goal is to determine which toothbrush type leads to better oral hygiene outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy children aged 2-12 without systemic diseases or dental anomalies.
Not a fit: Children with dental decay or those undergoing orthodontic treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved oral hygiene practices in children, reducing dental plaque and gingivitis.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown varying effectiveness of different toothbrush designs, but this specific comparison is novel.
