What this trial studies
This study compares the effectiveness of a supervised exercise program with a mobile application-based exercise program for adolescents diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). It aims to evaluate how these different exercise approaches impact the symptoms and overall health of participants. The study focuses on children aged 12-18 who have been diagnosed with JIA for at least six months and examines barriers to physical activity that may affect adherence to exercise. By analyzing the outcomes of both exercise methods, the research seeks to identify the most beneficial approach for improving the quality of life in young patients with JIA.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents aged 12-18 diagnosed with Oligoarticular or Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
Not a fit: Patients with recent trauma or surgery affecting the musculoskeletal system, additional chronic diseases, or cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide evidence for more effective exercise interventions that improve health outcomes for adolescents with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
How similar studies have performed: While there are few comparative studies on exercise programs for JIA, the approach of using both supervised and mobile-based interventions is relatively novel.
