What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of sprint training versus power training on the performance of cricket fast bowlers. It involves a randomized clinical trial with 34 physically fit participants aged 18-30, who will be divided into two groups: one will undergo sprint training, while the other will engage in power training over 12 sessions across 4 weeks. The aim is to assess improvements in speed, strength, and cardiovascular fitness through high-intensity interval training and explosive power exercises. Data will be analyzed using SPSS to determine the effectiveness of each training method.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy male and female fast bowlers aged 18-30 with at least 2 years of fast bowling experience.
Not a fit: Patients with existing musculoskeletal conditions or other health issues such as cardiac or respiratory problems may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the training regimens for cricket fast bowlers, leading to improved performance and reduced injury risk.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on cricket fast bowlers, similar training approaches in other sports have shown positive outcomes.
