What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a precise and intensive speech rehabilitation program compared to conventional speech therapy in stroke patients suffering from aphasia. Participants will undergo initial assessments including cognitive evaluations and the K-Western Aphasia Battery, followed by assignment to either a test group receiving the new rehabilitation program or a control group receiving standard therapy. Clinical evaluations will be conducted before and after the treatment to measure improvements in speech and cerebral blood flow changes using near-infrared spectroscopy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 19 years old who have experienced speech disorders following a stroke and can comply with study procedures.

Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive decline who cannot consent or participate in rehabilitation programs may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective speech rehabilitation methods for stroke patients with aphasia, improving their communication abilities.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar rehabilitation approaches, suggesting potential for success in this trial.
