What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the shoulder range of motion (ROM) and isometric strength in young elite badminton players from Rawalpindi before and after a single badminton match. The study will measure changes in these parameters to understand the impact of competitive play on shoulder function. By focusing on athletes aged 16-30 with no prior shoulder injuries, the research seeks to provide insights into the physical demands of badminton and the potential for overuse injuries. The findings could help inform training and rehabilitation practices for overhead athletes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are elite badminton players aged 16-30 with no history of shoulder injuries.

Not a fit: Patients who have prior shoulder injuries, systemic joint diseases, or play multiple sports may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of shoulder dynamics in badminton, potentially leading to improved training and injury prevention strategies for athletes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is a wealth of literature on badminton injuries, this specific focus on shoulder ROM and strength in elite players is relatively novel.
