What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a new universal resin composite, known as Omnichroma, in matching the shade of bleached anterior teeth compared to conventional nanohybrid resin composites. The goal is to determine if Omnichroma can blend seamlessly with the lighter shade of bleached teeth, potentially allowing for more conservative dental restorations without the need to remove existing restorations. Participants will include patients with existing class IV restorations who are undergoing teeth bleaching. The study aims to assess both aesthetic outcomes and the preservation of tooth structure.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with one or more existing class IV restorations who are planning to undergo teeth bleaching.

Not a fit: Patients with severe medical conditions, rampant caries, or those who smoke may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved aesthetic outcomes for patients undergoing teeth whitening and dental restorations.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of shade matching composites is gaining traction, this specific approach using Omnichroma is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in similar studies.
