Comparing screw fixation methods for tibial plateau fractures
Short Term Radiological and Clinical Outcomes of Fixation of Schatzker II Tibial Plateau Fractures by Screws Only Versus Plate and Screws , Comparative Study

What this trial studies
This study compares the short-term radiological and clinical outcomes of two surgical fixation methods for Schatzker Type II tibial plateau fractures: screws only versus plates and screws. The focus is on restoring limb alignment and articular surface to allow for early knee motion, which is crucial for recovery. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of these methods in reducing complications associated with soft-tissue damage and improving overall patient outcomes. Participants will be monitored for their recovery progress and any complications that arise post-surgery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are skeletally mature patients aged 18 to 70 with Schatzker Type II tibial plateau fractures.
Not a fit: Patients with severe comminution, open fractures, compartment syndrome, or vascular injury may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical techniques that enhance recovery and reduce complications for patients with tibial plateau fractures.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on tibial plateau fractures, this specific comparison of fixation methods is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
