Comparing robot-assisted and laparoscopic-assisted procedures for Hirschsprung disease
Comparison of Robot-assisted With Laparoscopic-assisted Modified Soave With Short Muscular Cuff Anastomosis for Classical Hirschsprung Disease
This study tests whether robot-assisted surgery is better than laparoscopic surgery for treating children with Hirschsprung disease to see which method leads to fewer complications after the operation.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial compares two surgical techniques for treating Hirschsprung disease: robot-assisted modified Soave procedure and laparoscopic-assisted modified Soave procedure. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of these approaches in reducing postoperative complications associated with the condition. By utilizing advanced surgical techniques, the trial seeks to improve patient outcomes and minimize the risks typically associated with traditional surgical methods. Participants will be children diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease who have undergone the modified Soave procedure.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 18 years or younger diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease confirmed by biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients with total colonic aganglionosis or those with other significant comorbidities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical outcomes and reduced complications for children with Hirschsprung disease.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with laparoscopic approaches for Hirschsprung disease, but the robot-assisted technique is relatively novel.
