What this trial studies

This study aims to compare the feasibility and complications of using the right versus left radial approach in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary procedures. The radial artery has become the preferred access site for these procedures due to its safety and comfort, allowing for quicker patient mobilization. While most previous research has focused on the right radial approach, this study will explore the potential advantages of the left radial approach, including reduced fluoroscopy time and operator comfort. The study will include patients eligible for radial coronary procedures at Assiut University.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients eligible for radial coronary procedures at Assiut University.

Not a fit: Patients with acute coronary syndrome, chronic upper limb ischemia, AV fistula, severe renal impairment, or those who cannot have their radial artery successfully cannulated may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance patient safety and comfort during coronary procedures by identifying the optimal access site.

How similar studies have performed: While many studies have focused on the right radial approach, this investigation into the left radial approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
