What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a standard physiotherapy program combined with kinesio taping (KT) or local vibration therapy (LVT) in treating individuals with chronic subacromial pain syndrome. A total of 63 participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: one receiving physiotherapy with KT, another with LVT, and a control group receiving only physiotherapy. Pain intensity, joint movement, muscle strength, functionality, and quality of life will be assessed using various scales and ultrasonographic imaging. The study will compare the outcomes after 3 and 6 weeks of treatment, as well as the maintenance of effects after 3 and 6 months.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old diagnosed with subacromial impingement syndrome for at least 3 months.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of upper extremity fractures, surgeries, or other significant shoulder conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new effective treatment options for patients suffering from chronic shoulder pain.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar physiotherapy and adjunctive treatment approaches, indicating potential for success.
