What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to reduce tobacco use among youth and young adults aged 14-21 in Baltimore City by comparing the effectiveness of peer-facilitated tobacco cessation classes to self-navigated programs. The study employs a randomized design, engaging participants from local high schools and colleges, particularly in underserved communities. Utilizing a community-based participatory research approach, the trial will assess success rates in quitting and maintaining abstinence from tobacco. The research is conducted in collaboration with the American Lung Association's Not On Tobacco program.
