Comparing myofascial release and nerve slider techniques for sciatica in cricketers
Effects of Myofacial Release Technique With and Without Sciatic Nerve Slider Technique on Pain Range of Motion and Functional Disability Among Cricket Players With Sciatica.
This study is testing whether combining myofascial release with a nerve sliding technique can help male cricketers with sciatica feel better and move more easily.

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of myofascial release technique (MFR) with and without the sciatic nerve slider technique in treating pain, range of motion, and functional disability in male cricketers suffering from sciatica. Participants will be assessed for their symptoms and physical capabilities before and after the interventions. The study is motivated by the lack of existing literature on the combined effects of these techniques specifically for sciatica. The goal is to provide a feasible and cost-effective treatment option that could reduce the number of therapy visits required for patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are male cricketers aged 18-35 who have been diagnosed with sciatica and have a history of low back pain for at least three months.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic diseases, trauma history, or previous surgeries on the lower limb may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could offer an effective non-invasive treatment option for cricketers suffering from sciatica, potentially improving their quality of life and performance.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of techniques has not been extensively studied, myofascial release and nerve slider techniques have shown promise in treating similar conditions in other studies.
