What this trial studies

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of two treatment techniques, Mulligan mobilization and myofascial release, in patients suffering from lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow. A total of 114 participants aged 18 to 65 with a diagnosis of lateral epicondylitis will be enrolled and randomly assigned to receive one of the two therapies or exercise therapy over a four-week period. The study will assess pain relief and functional outcomes through a structured evaluation process, ensuring informed consent and adherence to ethical guidelines. Data on participants' demographics and clinical history will also be collected to support the findings.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 65 who have been diagnosed with unilateral lateral epicondylitis and have experienced elbow pain for at least three months.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of elbow surgery, systemic diseases, or other conditions affecting the elbow may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective treatment options for patients suffering from tennis elbow, potentially improving their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While various treatment modalities for lateral epicondylitis exist, this specific comparison of Mulligan mobilization and myofascial release is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
