Comparing manual therapy and postural correction to conventional therapy for shoulder adhesive capsulitis
C5-C6 and Thoracic Spine Mobilization With Postural Correction Exercise Compared With Conventional Therapy in Patients With Adhesive Capsulitis - A Two-group, Parallel-arm, Single-blinded, Randomized Clinical Trial
This study is testing if a combination of manual therapy and posture exercises can help people with frozen shoulder feel better and move their shoulder more easily compared to regular treatment.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the effectiveness of C5-C6 and thoracic spine mobilization combined with postural correction exercises compared to conventional therapy in treating adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder. The study involves a randomized controlled design with 66 adult participants diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis, who will be assigned to either the experimental group or the control group. Primary outcomes include shoulder pain, range of motion, and disability, which will be assessed before, immediately after, and three months post-intervention. The goal is to determine if the new approach provides better results than standard treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 27-70 diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis for at least three months but less than 12 months, experiencing sleep-disturbing night pain.
Not a fit: Patients with secondary adhesive capsulitis due to fractures, malignancies, or those with unstable cardiac or neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved pain management and functional recovery for patients with adhesive capsulitis.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of combining spinal mobilization with postural correction is novel, similar studies have shown positive outcomes with manual therapy in shoulder conditions.
