What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effects of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols on patients undergoing lung resection for primary lung cancer. Patients will be randomly assigned to either an ERAS group, which follows enhanced recovery practices, or a control group that receives traditional perioperative management. The study will collect and compare short-term and long-term outcomes between these two groups to assess the benefits of the ERAS approach. The goal is to provide data that could improve recovery and outcomes for lung cancer surgery patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with stage I-IIIa non-small-cell lung cancer who require radical resection or VATS surgery.

Not a fit: Patients with cardio-pulmonary conditions that prevent them from tolerating surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved recovery times and better long-term outcomes for patients undergoing lung surgery.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with ERAS protocols in various surgical fields, suggesting potential benefits in lung surgery as well.
