What this trial studies
This research evaluates the differences in primary and secondary implant stability and soft tissue healing between UV activated dental implants and conventional implants. The study involves a control group receiving conventional implants and a test group receiving UV implants, with assessments conducted using resonance frequency analysis and radiographic evaluations. A total of 12 participants will be enrolled, with follow-up assessments occurring over a period of three months to monitor healing and stability outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old who require replacement for at least two missing teeth in the posterior mandible and have adequate bone volume for implants.
Not a fit: Patients with general contraindications to dental implant treatment, such as uncontrolled diabetes or severe cardiovascular disease, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved healing and stability of dental implants, enhancing patient outcomes in dental restoration.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in the field of dental implants, this specific comparison of UV activated versus conventional implants is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
