What this trial studies

This randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the accuracy of full-guided dental implant surgeries against guide-pin-assisted free-hand surgeries. Utilizing digital planning software and cone-beam CT scans, the study will assess the preoperative plans against the actual postoperative outcomes. The research addresses the current lack of surgical guide-assisted techniques in Bangladesh, where traditional methods are still prevalent. By comparing these two approaches, the study seeks to determine which method provides better accuracy and less invasiveness in dental implant procedures.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are partially edentulous patients aged 18 to 75 who are fit for implantation.

Not a fit: Patients with uncontrolled diabetes, recent extractions, or those requiring bone grafting will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved accuracy and outcomes in dental implant surgeries for patients in Bangladesh.

How similar studies have performed: While guided implant surgeries are common in developed countries, this approach is novel in Bangladesh, where such techniques have not been previously evaluated.
