Comparing fixation methods for specific pelvic ring injuries
SEQUENCE OF FIXATION IN VERTICALLY UNSTABLE TILE C1.2 AND C1.3 PELVIC RING INJURIES: A PROSPECTIVE COMPARATIVE STUDY
This study is testing whether fixing pelvic ring injuries from the front or back first leads to better recovery and fewer problems for people with certain types of pelvic injuries.

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of two different fixation sequences for treating vertically unstable Tile C1.2 and C1.3 pelvic ring injuries. Participants will be assigned to receive either anterior or posterior ring fixation, and the outcomes will be assessed based on clinical results, radiological findings, and rates of implant failure. The hypothesis suggests that starting with anterior fixation may lead to better overall outcomes, including easier reduction and shorter operation times.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 60 with Tile C1.2 or C1.3 pelvic ring injuries and pure anterior ring ligamentous injuries.
Not a fit: Patients with bony fractures of the pubic rami, Tile C2 and C3 pelvic ring injuries, or associated acetabular fractures requiring intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical techniques and outcomes for patients with specific pelvic ring injuries.
How similar studies have performed: While this specific approach is being tested, similar studies in pelvic fracture management have shown varying degrees of success, indicating potential for meaningful advancements.
