Comparing endoscopic and microscopic discectomy for lumbar radiculopathy
Management of Lumbar Discectomy by Endoscopy and Conventional Microscopic Discectomy
GCS Ramsay Santé pour l'Enseignement et la Recherche · NCT06193265

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the outcomes of lumbar discectomy performed using endoscopic techniques compared to traditional microscopic discectomy. It aims to determine the advantages of endoscopic discectomy, such as reduced invasiveness, smaller incisions, and improved recovery times. The research involves patients who underwent either surgical method for lumbar disc herniation, analyzing factors like infection rates, blood loss, and post-operative pain. The goal is to provide insights into the effectiveness and benefits of endoscopic surgery in treating lumbar radiculopathy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who have undergone either endoscopic or microscopic discectomy for lumbar disc herniation.
Not a fit: Patients who have not undergone either type of discectomy or are under 18 years old may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical outcomes and recovery experiences for patients undergoing discectomy.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for endoscopic discectomy, suggesting potential advantages over traditional methods.
