What this trial studies

This study aims to compare the short-term effects of two physical therapy techniques, ELDOA and slump stretching, on patients suffering from mechanical low back pain. Participants aged 18-45 with a pain intensity of at least 5 on the Numeric Rating Pain Scale will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups, receiving either ELDOA or slump stretching alongside conventional physical therapy. The effectiveness of these interventions will be assessed through measurements of pain, lumbar range of motion, and spatiotemporal gait parameters at baseline, one week, and two weeks post-intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-45 experiencing moderate to severe mechanical low back pain.

Not a fit: Patients with serious spinal conditions, congenital deformities, or a history of spinal surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-invasive treatment options for patients suffering from mechanical low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive effects of both ELDOA and slump stretching on low back pain, suggesting potential success for this comparative approach.
