What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the duration and effectiveness of orthodontic treatment for dental crowding when initiated at different stages of the mixed dentition phase. It is a randomized controlled trial conducted in a public health care center, utilizing a quad-helix intervention. The study will assess how early intervention impacts treatment outcomes and overall dental health. Participants will be monitored throughout the treatment process to gather data on effectiveness and duration.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children in the mixed dentition stage with dental crowding in both arches and no suspected skeletal discrepancies.

Not a fit: Patients with severe malocclusions not meeting national treatment criteria or those with Angle Class III relationships will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved orthodontic treatment strategies for children with dental crowding.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with early orthodontic interventions, suggesting this approach may be beneficial.
