What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the effects of dynamic versus static stretching exercises on alleviating symptoms of knee osteoarthritis in postmenopausal women. The study will involve 58 participants aged 50 to 65, who will be randomly assigned to two groups: one receiving both dynamic and static stretching, and the other receiving only dynamic stretching. The trial will take place over seven months at multiple hospitals in Lahore, utilizing various assessment tools to measure outcomes such as joint flexibility, pain reduction, and functional improvement.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are postmenopausal women aged 50 to 65 with a diagnosis of grade 3 osteoarthritis and significant pain.
Not a fit: Patients with a BMI over 30, early menarche, or a history of certain cancers or bone deformities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective stretching interventions to improve mobility and reduce pain in postmenopausal women with knee osteoarthritis.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with stretching interventions for osteoarthritis, suggesting this approach may be beneficial.
