What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of two types of concussion education, CrashCourse and Brain Fly-Through, delivered in either 2D or 3D (Virtual Reality). Participants will be randomly assigned to experience the educational content in one of the two modalities and will complete surveys to assess their knowledge, self-efficacy, and empathy regarding concussions before and after the intervention. The study will also include a follow-up survey two months later to measure any changes in these constructs.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are health professions students and student-athletes aged 18 and older at Concordia University.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously viewed the TeachAids CrashCourse concussion education will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding and reporting of concussions among health professions students and student-athletes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in concussion education, this specific comparison of 2D versus 3D modalities is relatively novel.
