Comparing CT and MRI for detecting bladder cancer invasion

Validity of Computed Tomography Versus Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Predicting Muscular Invasion of Bladder Cancer

Not applicable Interventional Menoufia University · NCT06046469

What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of computed tomography (CT) versus magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in predicting muscular invasion in patients diagnosed with bladder cancer. Participants will undergo both imaging techniques to determine which method provides more accurate results in detecting the extent of cancer invasion. The study will include patients with urinary bladder masses while excluding those with bleeding tendencies or prior chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The findings could help refine diagnostic approaches for bladder cancer.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with a diagnosed urinary bladder mass.

Not a fit: Patients with bleeding tendencies or those who have received chemotherapy or radiotherapy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic accuracy for bladder cancer, allowing for better treatment planning.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies comparing imaging modalities in cancer detection, this specific comparison of CT and MRI for bladder cancer muscular invasion is less commonly explored, making it a novel approach.
