What this trial studies

This observational study aims to compare core endurance and balance between patients diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) and healthy controls. It will involve 44 FMS patients and 44 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects. Core endurance will be assessed using McGill core endurance tests, while balance will be evaluated through the HUR BTG4 Balance Master System and the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). Additionally, the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) will be used to assess functional impact. The study seeks to understand the relationship between core endurance and balance in individuals with fibromyalgia.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-65 who have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome.

Not a fit: Patients who engage in regular exercise, have malignancies, are pregnant, or have recent changes in medical treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into the physical capabilities of fibromyalgia patients, potentially leading to improved management strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on fibromyalgia, this specific focus on core endurance and balance is relatively novel.
