What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness and quality of life improvements in children aged 7-12 with anterior crossbite by comparing two treatment methods: clear aligners and removable inclined planes. A total of 24 patients will be randomly assigned to either treatment group, with intra-oral scanning and custom appliance fabrication using advanced software and materials for the aligner group, while the inclined plane will be created using conventional methods. The goal is to determine which approach yields better clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 7-12 who have multiple teeth affected by anterior crossbite and maintain good oral hygiene.

Not a fit: Patients with systemic conditions, bad oral habits, transverse discrepancies, or those who have previously undergone orthodontic treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into more effective treatment options for anterior crossbite, improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on orthodontic treatments for crossbite, this specific comparison of clear aligners versus inclined planes is relatively novel.
